Eyebrow Waxing Tips

The eyebrows are important parts of the face and they play a major role in the entire aesthetic appeal of the face. If the brows don’t look good, they will not be able to work with your appearance and you will feel as though there’s something missing on your face. Some people, especially women, feel less confident if their brows are not properly groomed. For women, having beautiful and well-groomed brows is a very important factor in the presentation of the face.

Grooming the Brows

In order to keep the eyebrows looking as good as possible, what you should do is groom it. Like the hair on the head which you need to keep tidy and presentable, the eyebrows should also be treated in a similar way. Grooming consists of brushing, fixing and tidying the hairs, and coloring the brows. These methods are very frequently done by women in order to make their eyebrows look more presentable and attractive.

Hair Removal through Eyebrow Waxing

One of the most important things that you should do to keep your eyebrows groomed is by removing excess hair. If your eyebrows are too thick, they look very prominent. This eliminates all attention from other features apart from your eyebrows. Thick and bushy eyebrows are also quite unpleasant to the sight because the thickness is not proportional to the facial features, not to mention the hair volume of a woman. That’s why hair removal is a major requirement for eyebrow grooming.

If you want to remove your hair in the easiest, smoothest, and simplest way, the best option would be by waxing. Waxing the eyebrows makes use of soft wax which you apply on the area where you want to remove the hairs. A small piece of paper is then placed over the soft wax solution and when the wax hardens, the paper will be pulled and the wax, along with the hairs, will be removed. This is a fairly quick process and it’s also very effective. However, most people prefer to have it in the salon instead of doing it by themselves.

Risks of Eyebrow Waxing

Waxing can be quick and easy but it’s not as pleasant as you think. There are some risks in the process and you should consider them before undergoing the waxing procedure.

  1. Extreme pain. There’s always pain associated with waxing because you’re pulling out your hairs in one strip. If it’s your first time, get ready to have tears in your eyes. Even if you’re only waxing a small portion of your brows, you still feel the pain of getting your brows pulled out and the hairs extracted from the roots.
  2. Ingrown hairs. If the waxing process was not done properly, the hairs that still have a small portion in the root may grow in the wrong direction. This results to the growth of the hair through the skin, and this can become infected and painful.
  3. Hairs growing in the wrong direction. If the hair was not patted down to follow one direction and it was pulled out, the growth of the hair can direct in another way. This can make the hairs unruly and you would have to pluck the hair out to keep the appearance tidy.
  4. Balding. If the waxing process was done incorrectly, the wax might remove too many hairs, leading to the appearance of sparse or even balding eyebrows. This can be difficult to deal with because instead of being able to groom the brows well, you would have to draw over it with a pencil to restore its thickness and make the eyebrows look presentable again.
