We’ve got a week of top fives this week as I thought it would be fun to take a look at and review some of the best makeup products on the market. Today, we’re looking at mascaras – some new and exciting mascaras and some older but still brilliant products.
Rimmel Glam Eyes Day 2 Night Mascara
This mascara is basically two for the price of one. It offers a daytime lash lengthening look, and a night time look which makes your lashes look 15 times thicker and more volumised. The way it does this is with the fancy new cap – twist it to the day look for length and then twist it to the night look for volume. When you turn the cap, it changes the brush, from a thinner bristle brush for length to a thicker bristle brush for the volume. You could wear both looks at once as this really opens up your eyes, but this could look a little bit too dramatic for daytime. This costs £7.99 or $14, and is available from all good drug stores. It’s not too expensive as mascaras go, so I think it’s definitely worth a try.
Clinique High Impact Mascara
Clinique are a high end beauty brand that promise to deliver quality. This mascara delivers high impact – a little bit of length, and also a lot of volume. The blackest black shade really makes eyes pop and there is little to no clumping. It’s also very easy to use. Many reviewers say that they love the mascara, despite the fact that it is a little bit pricier than others, because it offers such brilliant results. Other users have said that they try every mascara that comes onto the market but they still keep coming back to this mascara. It’s £15 or around $25 from all good drug stores.
Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara
This is a very unique mascara – the more you wear it, the healthier, longer and plumper your lashes will be. It’s sort of like a lash conditioning treatment and a fantastic mascara in one. The tapered brush is very new and is brilliant for clinging to every single lash and coating each lash with the formula, rather than clumping and missing some lashes out like other mascaras can do. It’s available for £7.99 or around $14, so it’s a good price for mascara. It’s brilliant for people who have very weak lashes or lashes that may fall out or snap.
Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara
Benefit are a well-known USA beauty brand that have only been available in the U.K. until relatively recently in large department stores. Luckily, the brand is now available on the internet so that U.K. fashionistas can get hold of it easily. The brush is huge, but offers lots of tiny bristles so that the mascara wraps around every single lash, extending it and making it thicker, fuller, blacker and longer. The mascara also comes off really easily without flaking or clumping. Buy it for £17.99 or $14.99 from all good drug stores or online.
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
This is an absolutely fantastic mascara for the price. It offers the effects of wearing false lashes without the bother of using glue or having to stick eyelashes on. It has a big brush that is formulated specifically to coat each lash with the mascara, and it has a fantastic lengthening effect. It gives a little bit of volume, too, but this mascara is really all about the length. Buy it from all good drug stores for £6.00 or $10.00.
Tomorrow, we’re looking at five of the best new nail art effects available at a salon near you.
